Biography
Viktor is the founder of Amanita Store and the person behind much of its sourcing, product review, and educational publishing. He began working directly with wild mushrooms in 2019, learning first through field experience in and around the Ukrainian Carpathians and then through the practical demands of building a business that had to balance quality, traceability, shipping reliability, and responsible communication. That combination of field knowledge and day-to-day operational work is what shapes the store today.
His experience is especially rooted in Amanita muscaria and other functional mushrooms where species identification, drying conditions, sourcing discipline, and batch consistency matter. Over the years, Viktor has spent time studying habitat, seasonal variation, harvest handling, and the differences between raw material formats, extract types, and labeling claims. He approaches mushrooms as a category where folklore, personal experience, and modern evidence often overlap, but should not be confused with each other. That is why the site's content is written to be concrete, cautious, and understandable rather than sensational.
Beyond foraging knowledge, Viktor's work is operational. He has built supplier and fulfillment workflows that support EU customers with clearer product information, documented batch handling, and customs-aware shipping. That means paying attention not only to what is harvested or produced, but also to how products are dried, packed, labeled, stored, and moved across borders. The result is a store designed around repeatability: customers should know what they are buying, how it is described, and what standards are being applied before an order is sent.
His training is practical and ongoing rather than built around inflated credentials. It includes field observation in the Carpathian region, product handling and post-harvest preparation, supplier review, label and specification checks, and continuous reading of research literature relevant to mushroom compounds, quality markers, and safety questions. Viktor also reviews customer questions directly, which keeps the educational side of the business anchored in real problems people are trying to solve, from basic identification questions to shipping, preparation, and product format decisions.
Today, Viktor serves as founder, buyer, editorial lead, and day-to-day customer contact for Amanita Store. He works from Lviv, Ukraine, and remains closely involved in the details that most affect trust: what gets listed, how it is described, what evidence is cited, and how customer questions are answered. The goal is simple: combine firsthand experience, transparent sourcing, and careful communication so readers and customers have a more reliable place to learn about Amanita muscaria and related mushrooms.
