Performance Pre-Workout Powder
Training powder — Cordyceps militaris, creatine, citrulline and betaine for strength, pump and endurance.
AF Nutrition Lab × Amanita Store training, focus and recovery powders with Cordyceps, Lion's mane and Reishi.
The Sport & Performance collection is the home of the AF Nutrition Lab × Amanita Store line: Performance, a stimulant-free pre-workout built on Cordyceps militaris, creatine and citrulline; Focus, a Lion's mane nootropic powder for daytime concentration; Recovery, a Reishi and ashwagandha evening powder for wind-down and sleep; and a Chaga and turkey tail capsule for daily immune and antioxidant support. All four are built on the same fruiting-body mushroom extracts behind our single-species Cordyceps, Reishi and Chaga products, combined here with well-studied sports-nutrition and nootropic actives.
The four AF Nutrition Lab products are designed around a simple daily cycle rather than four unrelated products: Performance before training, Focus through the working day, Recovery in the evening, and Daily Core every morning underneath all three as a stimulant-free antioxidant base. None of them is a mushroom-only product — each pairs a 10:1 fruiting-body extract with well-studied sports-nutrition or nootropic actives (creatine, citrulline and betaine in Performance; caffeine, L-theanine, tyrosine and citicoline in Focus; ashwagandha, magnesium and glycine in Recovery; NAC, vitamin C and quercetin in Daily Core).
Only Focus contains caffeine. Performance, Recovery and Daily Core are stimulant-free, which is what makes the daily cycle work: Focus's caffeine sits safely in the middle of the day, Performance can be taken before an evening training session without affecting sleep, and Recovery is built specifically for the hour before bed. If you already drink coffee, count Focus's caffeine toward your total rather than adding it on top.
Set the timeframe honestly. Citrulline and caffeine work within the hour; creatine, betaine, Lion's mane, citicoline, Reishi and ashwagandha are all cumulative and build over 2 to 8 weeks of consistent daily use. Nothing here is a stimulant swap for coffee or a sedative swap for a sleep medication — see our Cordyceps vs caffeine for energy and best mushrooms for energy without caffeine guides for more on that distinction.
Stacking rules. Performance and Focus are both stimulant-free of each other's kind and can be taken on the same training day without conflict. Recovery is deliberately timed for the evening so it never overlaps with Focus's caffeine. Daily Core sits underneath all three, taken with breakfast regardless of what else that day calls for. Our supplement stacking guide covers building a routine like this deliberately, and our Lion's mane and L-theanine stack guide explains the pairing behind Focus specifically.
Safety varies by product. Focus's caffeine is unsuitable for children, pregnancy, breastfeeding or heightened caffeine sensitivity. Performance's creatine calls for good hydration and medical advice if you have kidney disease. Recovery's ashwagandha is a nightshade family plant and unsuitable during pregnancy without medical advice. Daily Core's Chaga and turkey tail are immune-modulating mushrooms, relevant if you take immunosuppressant medication or have an autoimmune condition. Check the safety section on each product page before combining them.
For single-species depth beyond this line, see our dedicated Cordyceps collection, focus and cognition collection, sleep and relaxation collection and immunity collection — each covers the same species in more formats and at a higher per-serving amount than a multi-ingredient blend can offer. Our best mushrooms for athletes guide is a good starting point if you're new to training with functional mushrooms.
