Tinctures & Extracts

Concentrated liquid extracts and dual extracts — fast, flexible dosing you can add to any drink.

Tinctures & Extracts

The tinctures & extracts collection brings together every liquid format we make — concentrated drops you can add to water, tea, coffee or take straight. It includes dual-extract tinctures of reishi, lion's mane, cordyceps, chaga and turkey tail, an Amanita muscaria tincture and infused coconut oil, plus botanicals like propolis and blue lotus oil. Sampling several? The set of three and set of five bundle the most popular tinctures together.

Extracts concentrate a mushroom's active compounds into a small, fast-acting liquid. A good dual extract uses both hot water and alcohol so it captures water-soluble beta-glucans and alcohol-soluble triterpenes — which is exactly why format matters for mushrooms like reishi and chaga, whose prized compounds only release under the right processing. Our articles on why extracts work and extraction methods explain the chemistry.

Liquids are the most flexible way to dose: adjust drop by drop, adsorb quickly, and carry easily. If you are weighing the options, extracts versus dried fruits and tea versus extract compare potency and convenience, while using an Amanita tincture walks through a specific example. Prefer pre-measured servings or whole material instead? See our capsules and dried mushrooms collections.

Frequently asked questions

A dual extract is made using both hot water and alcohol. Hot water pulls out water-soluble compounds such as beta-glucans, while alcohol extracts compounds that only dissolve in alcohol, such as reishi's triterpenes. Using both captures a fuller spectrum than either method alone, which is why dual extracts are the standard for mushrooms like reishi and chaga.
Tinctures are concentrated, so a small volume delivers a meaningful dose quickly, and the liquid is absorbed fast. Whether that is 'stronger' depends on the specific product and how much you take. The real advantages are speed and flexible, drop-by-drop dosing. Our extracts-versus-dried-fruits article compares the formats in detail.
Use the dropper to measure your serving and add it to water, tea, coffee or juice, or place it directly under the tongue. Follow the serving size on the bottle, as concentration varies between products. Our guide on using an Amanita tincture walks through a practical example.
Most dual-extract tinctures use food-grade alcohol as part of the extraction and as a preservative, so a small amount remains in the finished drops. The coconut oil is an oil-based alternative. Check each product page if you prefer to avoid alcohol, and add drops to a hot drink to let some of it evaporate.
Keep them in their bottles away from direct light and heat; a cool cupboard is ideal. Alcohol-based tinctures are naturally well preserved and keep for a long time. Always close the cap tightly and follow any storage note on the label.
