I did not notice the difference between a ground mushroom and a whole one. Sometimes I came across information that the ground loses its properties faster. I believe that if the mushroom is stored without access to air, ground or whole does not matter. How is it better to brew amanita or eat it?
The difference between brewing and using the dry mushroom itself was also not noticed. Do as you like. There is an opinion that by brewing and drinking mushroom water, and not consuming the brewed mushroom itself, we reduce the burden on the body. Basically it is, there is no point in overloading the body with chitin once more, but most likely we eat soups with champignon mushrooms and other dishes without thinking, eating mushrooms in large quantitiesDosage and hours of taking amanita:
1. A commonly described approach is 1 g of ground or whole mushroom in the morning before meals with warm water.2. 0.5 g of mushroom in the morning and 0.5 g in the evening with water.
3. Take 1 g of ground or whole mushroom in the evening with warm water. Here you will either sleep soundly or, on the contrary, shallowly, with very vivid dreams.
4,5,6 - All the same dosages and hours of reception as in points 1, 2, 3, only the difference is in brewing ground or whole mushrooms in water of 60-70 degrees (it is possible and higher, but I don't see the point). You can brew in a thermos or just a cup. When the mushroom sinks to the bottom and has a uniform jelly color, you can drink the tincture. 10-20 minutes is enough for this. The mushroom itself can be drunk or thrown away.
Storage, Preparation, and Responsible Use
Store Grade A Amanita muscaria dried caps in a sealed, airtight container away from light, moisture, and heat. Properly stored, dried caps retain their muscimol and ibotenic acid content for up to 24 months. If preparing tea, steep (do not boil) in water at 70–80°C for 20 minutes — boiling destroys some muscimol. For microdosing, grind to powder using a spice grinder for consistent dose preparation. Grade A caps are selected for their high muscimol content and low moisture — they are the preferred choice for those who want the most potent and reliable Amanita muscaria experience. Always weigh doses on a calibrated milligram scale. Start conservatively at 0.1–0.2 g and adjust based on individual response. This product is sold for responsible adult use and botanical research purposes only.Identification and Species Purity
Amanita muscaria is one of the most visually distinctive fungi in the northern hemisphere — the scarlet-to-orange cap with white warty remnants, white gills, and a bulbous volva at the stem base. Distinctiveness is not the same as safety, though: the genus Amanita also contains the deadliest mushrooms known, including the death cap (Amanita phalloides) and destroying angel (Amanita virosa). This is precisely why we do not encourage self-foraging for anyone without formal mycological training.Every batch we sell is harvested by experienced Carpathian foragers, hand-sorted, and verified to species before processing. We publish our lab certificates for this reason. If you want to understand what separates the species visually, our safety checklist and foraging guide cover it in detail.
Drying, Decarboxylation and Why It Matters
Fresh Amanita muscaria is high in ibotenic acid. Drying converts a portion of that ibotenic acid into muscimol through decarboxylation — a slow, heat-and-time-dependent process. This conversion is the single most important variable in how the material behaves, and it is why fresh and dried caps are not interchangeable in any sense. Our caps are dried at low temperature (approximately 45–50°C) over an extended period rather than quickly at high heat. Very high temperatures degrade muscimol; insufficient drying leaves more ibotenic acid unconverted. Our article on drying and decarboxylation explains the chemistry in full.
Legal Status — Check Before Ordering
The legal status of Amanita muscaria varies widely and changes. It is unregulated in much of Europe and most of the United States, controlled in the Netherlands, Romania and Australia, and restricted in Louisiana. This is your responsibility to verify for your own jurisdiction before ordering — we cannot advise on it and we do not ship where it is prohibited. Our legal status by country guide is a starting point, not legal advice, and may lag behind changes in law.Safety, Risks and Contraindications
Amanita muscaria is a toxic mushroom. That is a statement of fact, not a formality. Ibotenic acid is a neurotoxin, and adverse effects — nausea, vomiting, muscle twitching, confusion, dysphoria, and at higher amounts delirium and loss of consciousness — are well documented. Sensitivity between individuals varies substantially, and potency varies between batches, seasons and growing conditions, so no amount can be assumed safe on the basis of someone else's experience.Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18, or have a history of seizures, liver or kidney disease, or a psychiatric condition. Do not combine with alcohol, sedatives, benzodiazepines, GABAergic drugs, MAOIs, or other psychoactive substances. Never drive or operate machinery. Do not use alone if you are unfamiliar with the material.
If you or someone else experiences severe symptoms after ingestion, contact emergency services or your national poison control centre immediately and tell them what was taken.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does "Grade A" mean for these caps? Grade A refers to whole, well-formed caps selected for appearance and consistent size, sorted by hand before drying — as opposed to Grade B, which may include broken caps or minor plant debris. Potency between grades is comparable; grading is about cosmetic and handling quality.
Whole mushroom or ground — does it matter? Both are the same material; grinding is purely for convenience of dosing and doesn't meaningfully change the effect. Some people find a ground format easier to measure consistently.
How should Grade A caps be stored? Keep them in a sealed, airtight container away from light, heat, and moisture. Properly dried and stored caps keep their potency for a year or more; if they ever feel soft rather than brittle, they've absorbed moisture and should be used soon.
