Microdosing

Pre-measured Amanita and lion's mane capsules, powders and tinctures for microdosing routines.

Microdosing

This microdosing collection gathers the formats people reach for when taking small, regular amounts rather than a full experience — pre-measured Amanita muscaria capsules, powder and tincture, pantherina capsules, regalis caps and lion's mane capsules. Capsules and tinctures dominate here for one reason: consistency. A microdosing routine depends on taking the same measured amount each time, which is far easier with a pre-filled capsule or a marked dropper than with loose material.

Microdosing is an area of active interest and personal experimentation, not established medicine — nothing here is a treatment, and effects vary from person to person. Before you begin, read what microdosing is, the honest look at benefits and risks, and how to prepare beforehand. Our guides on course length and the most common beginner mistakes will save you trouble.

If you are choosing a mushroom, note the difference in strength between Amanita muscaria and the more potent Amanita pantherina. Start low, go slow, keep notes, and never combine with alcohol or sedatives.

Why format matters most in this collection. Consistency is the entire point of a microdosing routine, and formats differ in how consistent they can be. Individual dried caps vary in density and residual moisture, so weighing two caps to the same figure does not mean equal material. Capsules and powder are filled or milled from a single homogenised batch, so each portion is drawn from the same blended source. A tincture measures in finer increments still and absorbs faster, since sublingual absorption bypasses digestion — which also means its effect arrives sooner, making patience between doses more important rather than less.

A precision scale is not optional equipment. Kitchen scales read in 1 g steps and are often inaccurate below about 5 g — well above the range that matters here. Weighing removes one of two variables: it cannot tell you how strong a given batch is, but it does mean you are working from a known quantity rather than estimating. Guessing by volume is particularly unreliable, since milled material varies in density with grind and settling.

Potency genuinely varies. Between species, between batches, between seasons and growing conditions, and between individuals in their sensitivity. This is why no quantity can be assumed safe on the basis of someone else's experience, and why Amanita pantherina in particular — typically more potent than Amanita muscaria — should never be treated as interchangeable with it.

Safety and legality. Amanita species are toxic mushrooms. Ibotenic acid is a neurotoxin, and adverse effects including nausea, vomiting, muscle twitching, confusion and dysphoria are well documented. Not for anyone pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18, or with a history of seizures, liver or kidney disease, or a psychiatric condition. Never combine with alcohol, sedatives, benzodiazepines, GABAergic drugs, MAOIs or other psychoactive substances, and never drive or operate machinery. Legal status varies by country and changes over time — verifying your own jurisdiction before ordering is your responsibility.

Frequently asked questions

Microdosing refers to taking a small, sub-perceptual amount on a regular schedule rather than a large single dose. The products in this collection are chosen because their formats — capsules, measured powder, marked tinctures — make small, repeatable amounts easy. It is an area of personal experimentation, not established medical practice.
Capsules are the simplest because each one contains a fixed, pre-measured amount, so there is nothing to weigh. Tinctures are also popular thanks to the marked dropper. Loose powder gives the most flexibility but requires an accurate milligram scale.
Always start with the lowest amount and increase only gradually over time, keeping a journal of how you feel. Potency differs between species and batches, so a starting point that suits one person may be too much for another. Our preparation and course-length guides walk through this.
These products are not medicines and are not intended to diagnose, treat or cure anything. Amanita species are potent, dosing must be careful, and they should never be combined with alcohol, sedatives or other CNS depressants. If you are pregnant, on medication or managing a health condition, consult your doctor first.
Lion's mane is a non-psychoactive functional mushroom often taken in small daily amounts for focus. It works very differently from Amanita and does not carry the same dosing cautions — see our lion's mane microdosing guide.
