Red fly agaric microdosing options:

All the information and description below is a selection of different methods that have been collected from various about fly agaric. All the options described below can be combined at your own discretion and choose the ideal option for yourself.

Dosage and hours of taking amanita:

1. A commonly described approach is 1 g of ground or whole mushroom in the morning before meals with warm water.
2. 0.5 g of mushroom in the morning and 0.5 g in the evening with water.
3. Take 1 g of ground or whole mushroom in the evening with warm water. Here you will either sleep soundly or, on the contrary, shallowly, with very vivid dreams.
4,5,6 - All the same dosages and hours of reception as in points 1, 2, 3, only the difference is in brewing ground or whole mushrooms in water of 60-70 degrees (it is possible and higher, but I don't see the point). You can brew in a thermos or just a cup. When the mushroom sinks to the bottom and has a uniform jelly color, you can drink the tincture. 10-20 minutes is enough for this. The mushroom itself can be drunk or thrown away.

What Makes Premium Grade Different

Premium Amanita muscaria caps are selected from the first and most carefully harvested batch of the season. They are larger, more fully developed, and consistently contain higher concentrations of muscimol and other active compounds compared to standard grade material. The premium classification reflects both visual inspection standards and compound potency testing. If you have experience with Grade A Amanita muscaria and want to explore a more potent daily practice, premium grade is the appropriate next step.

Who Premium Grade is For

Premium grade suits experienced microdosers who have established their baseline dose with Grade A material and want a more potent option for the same or a reduced dose. It is also the preferred choice for users who prepare their own teas, tinctures, or extracts from dried caps and require the highest-quality starting material for consistent results. New users are recommended to start with Grade A to establish their individual sensitivity before stepping up to premium potency levels.

Identification and Species Purity

Amanita muscaria is one of the most visually distinctive fungi in the northern hemisphere — the scarlet-to-orange cap with white warty remnants, white gills, and a bulbous volva at the stem base. Distinctiveness is not the same as safety, though: the genus Amanita also contains the deadliest mushrooms known, including the death cap (Amanita phalloides) and destroying angel (Amanita virosa). This is precisely why we do not encourage self-foraging for anyone without formal mycological training.
Every batch we sell is harvested by experienced Carpathian foragers, hand-sorted, and verified to species before processing. We publish our lab certificates for this reason. If you want to understand what separates the species visually, our safety checklist and foraging guide cover it in detail.

Drying, Decarboxylation and Why It Matters

Fresh Amanita muscaria is high in ibotenic acid. Drying converts a portion of that ibotenic acid into muscimol through decarboxylation — a slow, heat-and-time-dependent process. This conversion is the single most important variable in how the material behaves, and it is why fresh and dried caps are not interchangeable in any sense.
Our caps are dried at low temperature (approximately 45–50°C) over an extended period rather than quickly at high heat. Very high temperatures degrade muscimol; insufficient drying leaves more ibotenic acid unconverted. Our article on drying and decarboxylation explains the chemistry in full.

Legal Status — Check Before Ordering

The legal status of Amanita muscaria varies widely and changes. It is unregulated in much of Europe and most of the United States, controlled in the Netherlands, Romania and Australia, and restricted in Louisiana. This is your responsibility to verify for your own jurisdiction before ordering — we cannot advise on it and we do not ship where it is prohibited. Our legal status by country guide is a starting point, not legal advice, and may lag behind changes in law.

Safety, Risks and Contraindications

Amanita muscaria is a toxic mushroom. That is a statement of fact, not a formality. Ibotenic acid is a neurotoxin, and adverse effects — nausea, vomiting, muscle twitching, confusion, dysphoria, and at higher amounts delirium and loss of consciousness — are well documented. Sensitivity between individuals varies substantially, and potency varies between batches, seasons and growing conditions, so no amount can be assumed safe on the basis of someone else's experience.
Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18, or have a history of seizures, liver or kidney disease, or a psychiatric condition. Do not combine with alcohol, sedatives, benzodiazepines, GABAergic drugs, MAOIs, or other psychoactive substances. Never drive or operate machinery. Do not use alone if you are unfamiliar with the material.
If you or someone else experiences severe symptoms after ingestion, contact emergency services or your national poison control centre immediately and tell them what was taken.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Premium grade different from Grade A? Premium caps are selected for higher overall potency and mineral/vitamin content, based on batch testing, rather than for cosmetic sorting alone — Grade A is sorted primarily on appearance and cap integrity.

Do the same dosing guidelines apply as for other grades? The dosing approaches described above are a starting reference, but because Premium is more potent, start at the lower end of any given schedule and adjust upward more cautiously than you would with Grade A or B.

How should Premium caps be stored to preserve potency? Store in a sealed, airtight container away from light, heat, and humidity. This matters more for Premium than lower grades, since moisture exposure degrades the higher active content faster.
