Amanita regalis capsules
Amanita regalis capsules contain royal fly agaric — the rare, liver-brown northern relative of the red fly agaric — dried at low temperature, finely milled and filled into capsules of exactly 0.5 g each. Every capsule in a jar is drawn from the same homogenised Carpathian batch, so the amount stays consistent from one capsule to the next, and the format removes the bitter, earthy taste of Amanita entirely.

What Is Royal Fly Agaric?
Royal fly agaric (Amanita regalis) is a northern European Amanita with a liver-brown to bronze cap, pale yellowish warts and a stout, ringed stem. Long treated as a brown variety of Amanita muscaria, it is now recognised as a separate species. It grows alongside spruce and pine in cool boreal and montane forests and fruits in far smaller numbers than the red fly agaric, which makes it one of the rarest Amanita species you can buy.
It contains ibotenic acid and muscimol, the same main compounds as Amanita muscaria. Published analyses of royal fly agaric are few and compound levels vary between specimens, seasons and sites, so its potency should not be assumed to be higher or lower than that of fly agaric. Why Choose Amanita Regalis Capsules
Consistency. Whole caps vary in density, moisture and compound content from one specimen to the next, so weighing a cap does not guarantee a consistent quantity of material. Capsules are filled from a single milled, blended batch, so each one holds the same 0.5 g of the same homogenised royal fly agaric.
No taste, no preparation. Amanita material is genuinely unpleasant to taste, and grinding and weighing caps is fiddly. Capsules remove both obstacles and make it simple to keep an accurate record of what was taken and when.
Discreet and portable. A sealed jar of capsules travels and stores more cleanly than a bag of caps or loose powder.
If you need smaller or freely adjustable amounts, the Amanita regalis powder weighed on a precision milligram scale is the better fit; if you prefer to see the whole mushroom, choose the dried Amanita regalis caps. Our formats compared guide explains the trade-offs.
How Our Amanita Regalis Capsules Are Made
The mushrooms are wild-harvested by experienced foragers in the higher conifer stands of the Ukrainian Carpathians, then hand-sorted and verified to species before processing — once material is milled and encapsulated, it can no longer be identified by eye, which is why our lab certificates are published.
The caps are dried slowly at around 45–50°C before milling. During drying, part of the ibotenic acid converts to muscimol through decarboxylation, while too much heat degrades it; the drying and decarboxylation guide covers the chemistry, which is shared across the Amanita genus. The dry material is then milled, blended into one homogenous batch and filled at 0.5 g per capsule. No fillers, binders, flow agents or excipients are added.
How Much Is in One Capsule?
Each capsule contains 0.5 g of dried Amanita regalis. Because royal fly agaric is less studied than Amanita muscaria and its potency varies, a whole capsule should be treated as a substantial amount rather than a cautious first one — especially if you have no prior experience with Amanita species. Individual sensitivity differs widely with body weight, metabolism and other factors. Our onset and duration guide explains what is known about timing, and why patience matters before taking any more.
Storing Amanita Regalis Capsules
Keep the jar tightly closed in a cool, dry, dark place. The milled material inside each capsule has a large surface area and is more moisture-sensitive than whole caps, so a humid bathroom cabinet is the wrong place for it. Stored correctly, the capsules stay stable for up to 24 months. Discard any capsules that become soft, sticky or discoloured, or that smell musty.
Keep well out of reach of children and pets. Capsules are easy to mistake for ordinary supplements, so a high or locked cupboard is sensible rather than optional.
Legal Status of Amanita Regalis
The legal status of Amanita regalis generally follows that of other Amanita species and varies by country — unregulated in much of Europe and most of the United States, controlled in the Netherlands, Romania and Australia. Because it is named in legislation less often than Amanita muscaria, its position can be ambiguous in some jurisdictions. Confirming the law where you live before ordering is your responsibility; our legal status by country guide is a starting point, not legal advice. We do not ship to countries where it is prohibited.
Safety and Contraindications
Royal fly agaric is a toxic mushroom. Ibotenic acid is a neurotoxin, and documented adverse effects include nausea, vomiting, muscle twitching, confusion, dysphoria and, at higher amounts, delirium and loss of consciousness. The convenience of a capsule does not reduce that risk and should not be read as a sign that the material is mild. Because Amanita regalis is less studied than Amanita muscaria, that uncertainty is a reason for more caution, not less.
Do not use if pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18, or if you have a history of seizures, liver or kidney disease, or a psychiatric condition. Do not combine with alcohol, sedatives, benzodiazepines, GABAergic drugs, MAOIs or other psychoactive substances. Never drive or operate machinery after use.
If severe symptoms follow ingestion, contact emergency services or your national poison control centre immediately and say what was taken. Frequently Asked Questions
What is inside each Amanita regalis capsule? 0.5 g of dried, milled royal fly agaric (Amanita regalis) from wild Carpathian harvests, in a plant-based shell. Nothing else is added.
How are capsules different from the powder and the dried caps? All three come from the same species and sourcing. Capsules give fixed 0.5 g portions with no taste; powder lets you weigh any amount yourself; whole caps let you inspect the mushroom before preparing it.
How is royal fly agaric different from Amanita muscaria? It is a separate, rarer species with a liver-brown to bronze cap that grows in cool northern conifer forests. It contains ibotenic acid and muscimol like fly agaric, but it has been studied far less, so amounts familiar from fly agaric do not automatically transfer.
How long do the capsules keep? Up to 24 months in the closed jar, stored in a cool, dry, dark place. Discard any capsules that turn soft, sticky or smell musty.
Is Amanita regalis legal where I live? Its legal status varies by country and changes over time. Check the legal status section above and your own local law before ordering — we do not ship where it is prohibited.
