About Amanita Pantherina Powder

This premium Amanita pantherina powder is sourced from the eco-clean Carpathian region, carefully dried at controlled temperatures to optimise the ibotenic acid to muscimol conversion ratio, and finely milled to a consistent particle size for uniform specimen handling. The powder format suits reference, microscopy and collection work.

Compound Profile

Amanita pantherina contains muscimol and ibotenic acid at concentrations typically 3–4 times higher than Amanita muscaria. This makes pantherina significantly more potent per gram than muscaria and correspondingly more dangerous if ingested. Muscimol acts as a potent GABA-A receptor agonist.

Safety Guidance

This is a high-potency botanical material and it is not intended for oral consumption. If it is ingested, do not wait to see what happens — contact emergency services or your national poison control centre immediately. Store sealed, dry, and away from heat and light.

Handling and Storage

Amanita pantherina powder requires careful, informed handling. As a finely ground botanical specimen, small measured amounts can be weighed precisely. For research or educational purposes, use a calibrated milligram scale — the spoon-scale products on this site provide 0.1 g accuracy, which is appropriate for this application. Store in a sealed container in a cool, dry place away from light and moisture. The powder retains potency for 12–24 months when stored correctly. This product is not intended for oral consumption and is sold strictly as a botanical research specimen. Handle responsibly: keep away from children, keep away from food-preparation surfaces, and wash hands after handling. Do not inhale the powder. If used in a research context, document quantities accurately and store in a labelled, secure location.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is this powder intended for? It is sold as a botanical specimen for educational reference, microscopy and collection purposes. It is not intended for oral consumption.

Why powder rather than whole caps? Milling homogenises a batch, so any measured amount is drawn from the same blended material. Whole caps vary in density and moisture from one specimen to the next, which makes them far less uniform for reference and analytical work.

Is Amanita pantherina legal where I live? Its legal status varies by country, changes over time and is not always the same as that of Amanita muscaria. Check the legal status section below and your own jurisdiction before ordering — we do not ship where it is prohibited.

What Amanita Pantherina Powder Is For

Milled Amanita pantherina powder exists to solve a problem that whole caps cannot: uniformity. Dried caps differ in density and moisture from one specimen to the next, so equal weights of two caps are not equivalent material. Milling a batch homogenises it, so any given measure is drawn from the same blended source. For research and analytical work, that reproducibility is the entire point.
Powder also disperses evenly, which whole or broken caps do not. Our formats compared guide weighs powder against capsules and dried caps.

Carpathian Sourcing and Milling Process

Our Amanita pantherina powder is wild-harvested in the Ukrainian Carpathian eco-region, hand-sorted and verified to species before any processing begins. Species verification happens before milling for a straightforward reason: once material is a powder, a buyer cannot visually confirm what it is. That is also why our lab certificates are published.
Material is dried at low temperature (approximately 45–50°C) and only then milled. Drying first matters chemically — decarboxylation converts part of the ibotenic acid to muscimol during drying — and practically, since milling damp material generates heat and produces paste rather than powder. No additives, fillers, anti-caking agents or preservatives are used.

Handling and Storing Amanita Pantherina Powder

Powder has far more surface area than whole caps and therefore takes up atmospheric moisture much faster once opened. Store in a sealed, airtight, opaque container away from light, heat and moisture, and add a desiccant sachet in humid climates. Properly stored, the powder remains stable for up to 24 months.
Clumping, dampness or any musty or off smell indicates moisture ingress and possible microbial growth — discard rather than attempting to dry it out. Handle in a well-ventilated space and avoid inhaling airborne powder during weighing or transfer, as with any finely milled botanical. Keep well out of reach of children and pets.

Legal Status of Amanita Pantherina

The legal status of Amanita pantherina varies by country and changes over time — unregulated in much of Europe and most of the United States, controlled in the Netherlands, Romania and Australia. Verifying your own jurisdiction before ordering is your responsibility. Our legal status by country guide is a starting point, not legal advice.

Safety and Contraindications

Amanita pantherina is a toxic mushroom and is more potent than Amanita muscaria. Ibotenic acid is a neurotoxin. Documented adverse effects include nausea, vomiting, muscle twitching, confusion, dysphoria and, at higher amounts, delirium and loss of consciousness. Potency varies between batches and seasons, and individual sensitivity varies widely.
Do not use if pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18, or if you have a history of seizures, liver or kidney disease, or a psychiatric condition. Do not combine with alcohol, sedatives, benzodiazepines, GABAergic drugs, MAOIs or other psychoactive substances. Never drive or operate machinery.
If severe symptoms follow ingestion, contact emergency services or your national poison control centre immediately and say what was taken. This product is a botanical specimen sold for responsible adult use and research purposes. It is not a food, not a medicine, and not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
